Healthy Dose of Humour Event

September 26th, 2:00pm
Underbelly Boulevard - London, W1F 0BT
A special event curated by Leith and the Advertising Association
Did you know that laughter is biologically, scientifically, and sociologically one of the fundamental traits that helps us humans survive? Perhaps that’s why in 2024, Cannes introduced a new humour category; and System1 claimed Leith’s viral ‘Mannschaft’ ad ‘won the Euros’ before they even started.

Leith and the Advertising Association invite you to explore the surprising ways humour can help us communicate. We’ll discuss the ways that humour can help us talk to audiences - from building trust, to driving behaviour change. We’ll take a look at some best-in-class ads from 2024 and end on a comedy set by award-winning Comedia Ria Lina.
Highlights to include:

· A presentation on the science of humour and value of humour in advertising by Dan Wilkes and Vic Milne

· A run down of some of the funniest (and most effective) ads in 2024 by Leith’s creative team, including Young Cannes Lion winner Marion Miranda, and writer-director Debbie Morgan

· A comedy set by Ria Lina, Award-winning comedian (Have I got news for you, Mock the week)

To RSVP, please email ellie.hall@adassoc.org.uk and charlotte.morgan@leith.co.uk

In the meantime, if you’d like to hear more - why not listen to Leith’s podcasts on the topic, or read creative Marion Miranda’s thought piece exploring whether or not health ads can (and should) be funny.
